My name is Alexandra Velasco. I’m an award-winning communications leader with over a decade of experience in advertising and marketing PR and comms.
Currently, I’m the Head of PR & Comms at VIRTUE Worldwide, powered by VICE. Previously, I was consulting with wonderful creative clients, including AI-first creatives studio Dolsten & Co., DC indie agency This January, and elite creative media studio PS260, among others.
I earned my stripes as Head of PR & Comms at Droga5 and Director of Comms at GUT, with a strong track record of positioning companies and executives as industry leaders both in the US and globally.
I’ve led PR strategies for top agencies, holding companies, brands (e.g., Pinterest, Refinery29), and global and regional C-suite executives—driving visibility, share of voice, and new business. Media placements include The New York Times, Fast Company, Forbes, Ad Age, Adweek, and more.
